Selection Procedure
LL.B. Part-I (Professional) 3-Year Degree Course

Admission to First Year of LL.B. (Professional) 3-Year Course, shall be made on the basis of Merit of Qualifying Examination as per rules, other terms and conditions of the University.

Reservation, Distribution of Seats

(A) Reservation of seats for Bona fide Residents of Haryana
The seats shall be reserved for the categories as under :

(i) Scheduled Castes :                                                                       32%

(ii)Backward Classes :                                                                      43% (27% for Block-A)

(except Socially advanced persons /Sections (creamy layer)                 (16% for Block-B)

(iii)Physically Handicapped :                                                               5%

(1% Blind or low vision, 1% Hearing impairment, 1% Loco motor disability or cerebral palsy)

If the seats reserved for Physically Handicapped persons remain vacant due to non- availability of suitable handicapped candidates, it may be offered to ex-servicemen and their wards (1%) and dependents of Freedom Fighter (1%).

(B) Distribution of seats
The seats shall be distributed as under :

(1) All India category including Haryana                                              12%

(2) Bona fide Residents of Haryana                                                     68%

(50% of the seats earmarked for Bona fide residents of Haryana will be reserved for the categories as mentioned at (A) above, as per State Government policy and remaining 50% seats will be filled from amongst General Category candidates.)

Note : Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from a University in the State of Haryana will be deemed to be Residents of Haryana and will not be required to submit certificates of Bona fide residents of Haryana.

IMPORTANT NOTES :

1. The Reservation of seats is as per the Reservation Policy of the Haryana Government and is subject to any change/Amendment by the State government from time to time.

2. Certificate of SC and BC Block A & B to be submitted by the candidates on the Performa along with the Admission Forms. The BC candidates (Block A & B) for benefit of reservation shall also have to furnish an affidavit on the prescribed Performa to the effect that he/she is not covered under the criteria of creamy layer. The said affidavit shall be furnished by both father and mother of the candidate.

3. Dependent of Freedom Fighters of Haryana is required to submit a certificate from the concerned Deputy Commissioner.

4. Only candidates having permanent disability of not less than 40% (being otherwise fit for admission to the course) will be considered for admission as physically handicapped. Disability certificate should be issued by the Chief Medical Officer of the concerned District. However, the certificate shall be subject to verification by a Medical Board of the College constituted for the purpose and the decision of the Board shall be final.

5. Ex-Servicemen and their Wards of Haryana are required to submit the certificate from the concerned District Soldier Board.

6. Selected candidates who fail to deposit their dues by the stipulated period shall not be considered in subsequent lists.

7. All the eligible candidates of Haryana will be considered for the seats under category (B) irrespective of whether or not they belong to category (A).

8. All the eligible candidates, whether from Haryana or from reserved category, may also compete for seats allocated under open category.

9. The percentage of seats reserved under (A) category shall not be changed.

10. If the number of seats in any particular category is not a round figure, 0.5 or above will be taken as one and less than 0.5 shall be ignored. However number of reserved seats excess 50% of the total seats even if a fraction of 0.5 or more is to be ignored.

In view of the Letter no. ACM-3/Adm 13/07/8310-509 dated 21-5-07 the weight ages for the purpose of merit for LL.B shall be prepared in the following way.

Weightage for the Purpose of Merit for LL.B.

Candidates who are eligible for admission will be entitled to Weight ages as given below :

(A) Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from the Universities in the Haryana State                        : 5 Marks

(B) Recipients of National Talent Award from the N.C.E.R.T.                                                                                       : 5 Marks

(C) Candidates having consistently good academic record i.e., throughout First Class from First
      Public Examination to qualifying examination.                                                                                                     : 5 Marks

(D) N.C.C. Cadets who have passed the C/G-II Certificate (No weight age will be given for Civil Defense Service)         : 5 Marks
OR
Student who have been recommended or commended (i.e. have obtained 1st or 2nd position) at the Inter-Zonal or Inter-University or Inter-State Level Youth festivals organized by State Govt./ University competitions either individually or as members of a team.
OR
Sportsmen who have won 1st or 2nd or 3rd position at the University / State Level Tournaments organized by State Govt./University in individual Events or team Games or have actually participated in the Inter-University or National Level Competition.
OR
Holders of Certificate of Merit for N.S.S. awarded by the University.

Criteria for award of University N.S.S. Merit Certificate will be as under :

1. N.S.S. Volunteer who has completed 240 hours of regular activities in the period of two years and attended one annual special Camp (of at least 10 days duration) and

2. One who has donated blood at least twice or has made at least four illiterate literate. This shall have to be certified by the Principal along with the names and addresses of the illiterates or has shown exemplary act of courage or bravery by saving life like drowning, fire, natural calamities or man made calamities. In case of N.S.S. Volunteers from other Universities located out side Haryana, one has to become eligible by way of becoming at par with the condition as required under Sr. No. 1 and 2 of the above criteria laid down for University merit Certificate.

N.S.S. weight age will not be allowed to the students who have only N.S.S. participation certificate given by the College Principal.
OR
For the students instructors/volunteers of colleges maintained / recognized by the Kurukshetra University for running Adult Education Centre/engaged under M.P.F.L..

(The above weight age under Adult Education Scheme will be given on the basis of the Certificate issued jointly by the Principal of the College affiliated or maintained by Kurukshetra University and Hony. Director, C.A.C.E.E., K.U. KURUKSHETRA.

Provided that :

(a) The weight age of marks for the purpose of the merit will be added to percentage of marks of entrance test and qualifying examination.

(b) The total weight age for merit (A to D) above shall not exceed 10 marks.

(c) The weight age for the purpose of merit under Clause (D) above shall be given only if the candidate has obtained required certificate/Distinction during the entire course of the qualifying examination on the basis of which he is seeking admission to the course. For example, if a candidate is seeking admission on the basis of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Examination, he will be given weight age under this cause only if he has obtained certificate of distinction, during I, II & III of B.A./B.Sc./B.Com.Course.

(d) Weight age for sports will be given only in respect of Tournaments in the following games/events arranged by the University/Inter-University Sports Board or by a State/ National Organization. No Game or event which is not recognized by the Association of Indian Universities shall be considered.
